Why Cognitive Hypnotherapy ?

Hypnotherapy is supported by more scientific research than any other complementary therapy (The Which? Guide to Complementary Therapies, 2002).

The British Medical Association has recognised the validity of hypnosis as a therapeutic intervention since 1955.

Anxiety Stress CogsRecent research has shown that the unconscious is responsible for about 90% of our daily behaviour. Hypnotherapy enables you to deal with the things in your life you want to change by working at the unconscious level leading to lasting change.

The approach of Cognitive Hypnotherapy is significantly different from the traditional schools of Hypnotherapy. Drawing on recent discoveries and ideas from Evolutionary Psychology, Positive Psychology, Cognitive theory and NLP and incorporates them into a modern idea of hypnosis to provide a framework for your therapy.

I use the latest techniques to reveal the thoughts and beliefs that you hold, that drive your behaviour and uncover any past events that may have shaped it. I then work with you to change these negative patterns enabling you to get to where you want to be. What we call 'your solution state'.

How you experience your problem will be specific to you, so I believe your therapy needs to address your specific problem and solution.

For health, if you accept the premise that the mind and the body communicate with one another, then the quality of the thoughts you have must impact on the stress levels within your body. If you're thinking negatively, or view the world through a veil of limiting beliefs, then the body's response to this places a burden on the immune system, which can ultimately lead to illness and susceptibility to disease. In that respect, your thoughts create the conditions necessary for your ill-health.
